A recharge evacuates the old refrigerant, inspects the full system for leaks and damage, then refills with fresh gas to specification. On the Suncoast, where AC runs eleven months a year, we recommend a recharge at least every two years—or immediately if cooling power drops. What does an AC recharge cost?
The recharge is a set price based on your vehicle’s make and model, confirmed before work begins. If a repair is diagnosed, it’s quoted separately once we know exactly what’s involved.
Recharge or repair — how do I know which I need?
If cooling has faded gradually, a recharge usually restores it. If the system loses its charge quickly after a recharge, or fails suddenly, there’s likely a leak that needs repair. The full-system inspection included with every recharge tells us which situation you’re in.
What is refrigerant, exactly?
A chemical compound that absorbs heat as it cycles through the sealed AC system—it’s what pulls the warmth out of your cabin air. When it’s contaminated or depleted, the system can only blow warm air.
What if I just keep driving with weak AC?
